Platypus

This short was done by a group of seniors from the Art Institute of Los Angeles as a production test for the studio Rhythm and Hues in the Winter of 2009.
The goal was to composite a CG animal into live action footage. The footage was shot and tracked as the model, rig and fur were developed. The team had to come together to problem issues that would arise durring production, the most problematic was rendering out the fur on the platypus.
In the end, with the help of writer Mike Wood, we were able to piece the three shots into a cohesive piece.
